So I thought it would be helpful to share the best essential oil supplies for beginners.
The supplies listed below will help you get the most out of your essential oils.
You don’t need to get everything on the list right away. But I would make it a goal to acquire everything on this list over time.
I’ve listed the items in order of most important to not as important but you’ll definitely want to get eventually.
1 | Essential Oils
Obviously, you are going to need essential oils. And the essential oil brand you choose is a very important decision.
I have an entire guide that you can read about how to choose an essential oil brand. And I highly recommend that you read it and do your own research.
Not all essential oils are created equal. And some brands are definitely better than others.
But you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get high-quality essential oils. That is something that took me a long time to figure out.
I used to use a very popular and expensive MLM brand. Once I started to do my own research into different essential oil brands, I was pleasantly surprised to discover several high-quality essential oil brands at affordable prices.
I was also kind of irritated about how much money I had spent on oils that I thought were better than the rest, only to find out there were other brands that sold oils that were just as good at a fraction of the cost.
So don’t make the same mistake I did.
The brands I currently recommend are Florihana, Simply Earth and Plant Therapy. You can check out my Florihana and Simply Earth reviews below.
If you decide to buy from Simply Earth you can use the code HAPPYHEARTFREE to receive a $40 Simply Earth gift card + a big bonus box with the purchase of your first recipe box, all for only $39.99!!!
Once you’ve chosen a brand I recommend these essential oils for beginners. The five essential oils listed in this post are highly versatile and will help you get started on your oily journey.
If you would like to invest in more than five oils you can check out the top 20 essential oils you need in your collection.
2 | Essential Oil Diffusers
Essential oil diffusers are the quickest and easiest way to start using essential oils in your everyday life.
Essential oil diffusers break essential oils down into smaller molecules and disperse them through out the air.
Not only do they allow you to freshen up a room without chemicals but they also have many health and wellness benefits.
Diffusing immune boosting essential oils can give your immune system a boost. Diffusing essential oils for sleep can help you relax and sleep better. Diffusing energy boosting essential oils can give you a little extra energy to help you get through your day.
You can eliminate so many toxic chemicals from your home just by using a diffuser instead of air fresheners and candles.
Candles and air fresheners are a huge source of indoor air pollution. You can read this post to learn more about the dangers of air fresheners and candles.
I threw out all my air fresheners and candles a long time ago and I don’t miss them one bit. Check out some of my favorite diffuser blends below.
If you need a diffuser you can check out some of my favorite diffusers below.
- Waterless Essential Oil Aroma Diffuser
- Asakuki Premium Essential Oil Diffuser
- Asakuki Portable Essential Oil Diffuser
- Innoo Tech Essential Oil Diffuser
- Nebulizing Essential Oil Diffuser
3 | Carrier Oils
Carrier oils are a must have when it comes to essential oils. Many essential oils need to be diluted with a carrier oil before applying to the skin.
Carrier oils are also necessary for making many essential oil diy products.
The carrier oils I recommend are below.
You don’t need all of them. Maybe just one or two to start with. Coconut oil is my go-to for creating roller blends. And I love carrier oils like almond or jojoba for making diy beauty products.
4 | Roller Bottles
Roller blends are one of my absolute favorite ways to use essential oils.
Roller blends are a blend of essential oils, diluted with a carrier oil, inside a glass roller bottle, with a little roller tip. You simply roll the roller blend on your wrist or neck to apply the oils topically.
Roller blends make using essential oils so much easier and convenient. Everything is already diluted and you can easily toss the roller blend in your purse and use it on the go.
If you would like some roller blend recipes you can check out some of my favorites below.
- Immune Boosting Roller Blend
- Energy Roller Blend
- Sleep Roller Blend
- Bug Bite Roller Blend
- Under Eye Roller Blend
- Headache Relief Roller Blend
- Focus Roller Blend
If you need some roller bottles I’ve listed my favorites below. Whichever ones you decide to get just remember to always use glass.
Essential oils should always be stored in glass containers. Essential oils contain strong chemical compounds that can break down and react when coming in contact with plastic.
- Clear Glass With Gold Cap
- Rose Gold With Gold Cap
- Amber Glass With Gold Cap
- Rainbow Glass With Gold Cap
5 | Essential Oil Books & Resources
Essential oil education is extremely important. Once you’ve got your oils and the supplies above you definitely should invest in education. The books and resources I recommend are below.
The Complete Book Of Essential Oils And Aromatherapy
This book is over 700 pages long. It is huge! It contains over 800 natural and fragrant recipes. It also includes profiles of 125 essential oils, 37 carrier oils, and more.
The author, Valerie Ann Worwood, is a consultant and expert on the clinical uses of essential oils internationally.
Essential Oils Natural Remedies: The Complete A-Z Reference Of Essential Oils For Health And Healing
Just like the title says, this book contains hundreds of natural remedies made with essential oils. It includes 300 remedies used to treat 170 different ailments.
You’ll also learn about the history of essential oils, how to get started with tools and equipment, plus need to know application methods.
Herbs And Essential Oils Super Bundle
This is one of my favorite essential oil educational resources. It includes everything you need to use herbs & essential oils in your home in one comprehensive package.
You’ll receive 29 ebooks (valued at $256.16), 4 printables (valued at $39.99) and 7 courses (valued at $406.99). All for only $49.99! Click here to learn more about it!
6 | Essential Oil Storage & Shelves
Essential oils are an investment. And you definitely want to protect your investment. Storage boxes and shelves are a great way to take of your oils.
Also, if you have your oils displayed on a shelf in your home it can serve as a constant reminder to use your oils!
In my opinion, you should get three different types of storage units.
You should get a pretty shelf where you can easily display your favorite oils and where they can always be in reach.
You’ll also need a large storage box for when you travel on vacation. Yes, your essential oils need to come with you.
And lastly, you’ll need a small storage bag to carry your oils on the go day to day.
7 | Labels
If you’re obsessed with roller blends like I am, then you’ll definitely need labels or at least your own label maker.
Otherwise, you’ll end up with the dozens of roller blends all over your house and you’ll have no idea what any of them are for.
Been there, done that!
I love this super, simple label maker from Amazon.
If you want something a little more pretty, you can join my email list where you’ll get full access to the Resource Library and you can download free printable essential oil labels.
