The Best Places to Buy Organic Food Online
The Best Stores to Buy Organic Food Online
Eating healthy isn’t easy. It requires sacrifice. A sacrifice of time and money. But shopping online for organic groceries can actually save you time and money if you shop at the right places. So what are the best stores to buy organic food online?
Best Places to Shop for Healthy Food Online
1 | Boxed.com
Boxed is one of my favorite places to shop for healthy food online. They are a bulk online grocery retailer. Similar to Costco or Sam’s Club except they don’t have a membership fee.
They sell food, beverages, household products, hygiene products, wine, pet products, and more!!! Not everything is organic or healthy but a lot of their inventory is. You just have to look around.
I love Boxed because you are getting prices comparable to Costco but you’re not having to waste time or money driving to the store (my nearest Costco is 30 minutes away). You’re not having to deal with the crazy crowds (my store is always crazy busy). And you’re less likely to make impulse purchases (Costco gets me every time).
You will receive free delivery on your first order and all other orders over $49! And most orders arrive within 2 business days. They also give free samples with every order!
Some of my favorite products to buy at Boxed are Clif Kids Organic Zbars, apple chips, BAI antioxidant drinks, almonds, and pistachios.
2 | Vitacost.com
I have been shopping at Vitacost for years. They offers savings up to 50% off retail on healthy groceries and other items. They carry over 45,000 different products. And they offer free shipping on orders over $49.
Their Vitacost brand products are amazing! I love their coconut oil and almond butter. They are constantly running bogo sales and free gifts with purchase. And they also give you free samples with every purchase.

3 | ThriveMarket.com
I probably shop at Thrive Market more than any other store on this list. There is a $59.95 annual membership fee to shop there but in my opinion it is totally worth it because of how much you save!
They’re are constantly offering freebies with your purchase, free samples and discount codes for free shipping and 10% to 25% off your purchase. I’ve saved over $900 since I’ve been a Thrive Market member.
They carry so many different foods and products that I just can’t find anywhere near me. And I absolutely love their Thrive Market Goods products. They are made with high quality ingredients and the prices are amazing.
Update 3/20/2020: Thrive Market now offers a monthly membership plan that is $9.95 a month. If you choose the annual plan it breaks down to about $5 a month. So the annual plan is a much better deal.
But the monthly plan is great for people who don’t want to make the yearly commitment. But keep in mind you can get a full refund on either plan if you cancel within 30 days.
Also, if you don’t make your membership back in savings by the end of the year, Thrive Market will automatically give you the difference in Thrive Market credit after you renew.

4 | Grubmarket.com
Grub Market is a little different from the other stores I mentioned above because you can actually purchase fresh produce from their online store.
And their prices are awesome!!
They offer a spectacular array of farm-fresh foods at prices that are up to 50% off what you’d typically find at other grocers.
Right now you can buy organic avocados for $.99 each!!! Organic fuji apples are $5.99 for a 3 pound bag. Organic grapes are only $1.79 a pound.
I’m located in Southern California and organic produce out here is super expensive. I find much better deals at Grub Market. And the food tastes great!
They also carry snacks, bread, hygiene products and more!!!
All orders of $39.99 and above ship for free. All orders below $39.99 will be charged a $5.99 delivery fee. They use overnight shipping for all orders. All refrigerated items are specifically housed in special cold bags.
If you decide to make a purchase at Grub Market you can use this link to receive $10 off your purchase of $35 or more!!!
5 | Amazon.com
Believe it or not Amazon is a great place to buy organic groceries. They carry a wide variety of organic snacks, drinks, condiments and more. They also recently started carrying the Whole Foods brand, Everyday 365, which I absolutely love! Especially, since the nearest Whole Foods is 50 minutes away from me.
To take advantage of the many Whole Foods and other organic food deals on Amazon you will need to have a Prime Pantry account. For $4.99 per month (plus applicable taxes) Prime Pantry members receive free shipping on all orders of $10 or more. Orders under $10 will incur a $5.99 shipping fee.
Prime Pantry provides great value with weekly deals and coupons on many popular items.
If you’re a current Amazon prime member then the $4.99 monthly fee is waived and Prime pantry orders over $35 will ship free.

6 | ButcherBox.com
Butcher Box is a monthly meat delivery service that delivers high-quality, hormone and antibiotic-free cuts directly to your door. They sell carefully curated boxes of high-quality beef, chicken, or pork or you can customize your own.
You can choose from one of the 5 following boxes:
- Custom Box
- Mixed Box
- The Beef & Pork Box
- The Beef & Chicken Box
- The All Beef Box
The meat is delivered in an insulated box, frozen and packaged with care.
High quality meat is one of those things that can be pretty pricey. But it in my opinion, it is the one thing you must buy if you can afford it. Even if that means making sacrifices and cutting costs in other areas of your life.
You can read this article to learn more about the dangers of eating meat filled with hormones and antibiotics..
Grass fed beef is also better for the environment and has actually been shown to reduce the carbon footprint. Read this article to learn more about the benefits of grass fed beef.
But unfortunately finding high quality, grass-fed meat isn’t always easy. That’s why I love Butcher Box so much! They deliver high quality grass-fed meat right to your door!
I love shopping online for organic groceries for a few different reasons.
- I save time
- I save money
- I have a much wider variety of foods to choose from
- It’s easy and convenient
Here are a few tips to maximize the benefits of shopping online for groceries.
Never pay for shipping
Always try to meet the minimum order amount to get free shipping. Or look for a free shipping promo code.
Don’t forget the freebies
If the store your’e purchasing from offers freebies with your order, don’t forget to add them to your cart! And if you’re obsessed with saving money and scoring freebies like I am, don’t place your order until a really awesome freebie is available. I do this all the time with Thrive Market!
Plan in Advance
Although many of the companies mentioned above have super quick shipping times you will still want to plan out your meals and grocery list in advance just in case. Plus this also helps to meet the minimum requirement for free shipping.
