I was actually gifted a pillow mist/spray from Bath & Body Works a few months ago and really enjoyed the scent but I just didn’t feel comfortable using it because it was filled with synthetic ingredients.

So I did what I always do and decided to make my own DIY version with 100% natural ingredients.

It smells wonderful and it works great too!

How Does Sleep Spray Work?

Sleep spray works really well because it is filled with relaxing essential oils. The essential oils help to calm the mind and relax the body.

DIY Sleep Spray Ingredients

To make this super, easy DIY you’ll need the ingredients and supplies below.

Witch Hazel

Distilled Water

Lavender Essential Oil

Cedarwood Essential Oil

And you’ll also need a 2oz glass spray bottle and a small funnel.

Make sure you use high-quality essential oils. I recommend Florihana, Plant Therapy, or Simply Earth.

If you decide to buy from Simply Earth you can use the code HAPPYHEARTFREE to receive a $40 Simply Earth gift card plus a big bonus box with the purchase of your first essential oil recipe box.

How To Make Sleep Spray With Essential Oils

To make this pillow sleep spray simply follow the direction below.

How To Use Sleep Spray

To use sleep spray all you have to do is spray 3-4 spritz directly onto your pillow right before bed. You can also spray a few spritzes onto your pajama top or bed sheets.

Make sure you shake well before each use.

Sleep Spray Without Lavender

If you’re not a fan of lavender or if you don’t have lavender on hand you can use 10 drops of vetiver instead. Or 15 drops of Roman chamomile.

Can You Use Sleep Spray When Pregnant?

Although the essential oils above are considered generally safe for pregnant women I would suggest talking to your doctor before using.

Can Sleep Spray Be Used For Babies or kids?

Once again, although the essential oils used in this pillow sleep spray are generally considered safe for children I would recommend talking to your doctor before using on children younger than 5 years old.

For children 5 years old and older I would suggest only using half of the recommended drops of essential oil and only using 2 spritz.

I hope this sleep spray helps you relax and get the sleep you need! Don’t forget to check out my other sleep-related articles posted above!
