Diy Lash Serum with Essential Oils
Want fuller, thicker, longer lashes? Then you need to try this DIY lash growth serum! It only contains 3 ingredients and it’s completely toxin-free.
My eyelashes have been through it over the past several years. Due to my autoimmune disease (you can read more about that here) they were thinning and falling out. They just looked awful.
I really wanted to try one of those popular lash growth serums. But not only were they way too expensive, the ingredient list kinda freaked me out. More about that below!

First of all, that’s a ridiculous amount of ingredients! But what’s even more ridiculous is how toxic some of the ingredients are.
Take isopropyl cloprostenate for example. Isopropyl cloprostenate is a synthetic type of compound known as a prostaglandin analog.
It can cause side effects, like eye irritation, red eyes, blurred vision, inflammation, lid crusting, blurred vision, and cysts, according to the FDA.

Lash Growth Serum Side Effects
There are many side effects associated with store-bought lash growth serum products.
- Skin Discoloration
- Reduced eye pressure
- Permanently increased iris pigmentation
So after learning all about the ingredients and side effects, I decided to make my own DIY lash growth serum.
And I’m so happy I did! It works great. My lashes look better than ever. And like I mentioned earlier you only need three ingredients!
DIY Lash Growth Serum Ingredients
Rosemary Essential Oil
Rosemary essential oil is well known for stimulating hair growth. It strengthens and improves circulation and as a result, prevents hair follicles from being starved of blood supply and dying off.
It’s one of the best essential oils for hair growth.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender can help speed up hair growth. It can also keep the hair follicle free from bacteria which could prevent hair growth.
There is a lot of hype about castor oil and its effect on hair growth all across the internet. But I couldn’t actually find any science-backed evidence proving it can actually make your hair grow longer.
But I have been using castor oil for years and I’m pretty convinced of its ability to promote hair growth.
I’ve had amazing results from my lashes to my brows to the hair on my head. So I had to include it in this DIY!

How to use Lash Growth Serum
Gently brush your eyelashes with the mascara wand at night before bed. Be very careful to avoid contact with your actual eye.
This can also be applied to your eyebrows as well.
Need Essential Oils?
Not all essential oils are created equally. Many are made with synthetic chemicals and fillers. But don’t let that scare you. There are many different essential oil companies that create high-quality oils.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover several brands that sell amazing, high-quality essential oils at very affordable prices.
